HALL OF FAME BEADERS' GUILD meets the second Monday of every month at Beads'N More from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  Our Guild is comprised of beaders of all levels, quilters, spinners and more.  Why not come and see what we're about.  You can come to three meetings before you decide if you'd like to join.  Our yearly dues are $20.00.  We have a different program each month and have a lot of fun.  Everyone is welcome!

Hi Everyone,

 

            Can you believe that Spring is FINALLY here?  It seemed to tease us for weeks and then “no show.”      It’s just so nice to see the little crocus coming up and even some daffodils.  With Spring comes our next class schedule – May through July, 2008.  Again, we have some new and exciting classes for you.  One of our classes is a Swarovski Crystal Prom Time Necklace.  It is simple and very elegant.  We’re sure you’ll find something that appeals to you.

Please note that the THERE ARE SEVERAL CLASSES (description and cost at the end of this class schedule) can be taught at any time for one or more people.  All you need to do is arrange a day and a time.

 

 

 

IMPORTANT CLASS INFORMATION

 

  • Please make reservations for classes no later than one week in advance of scheduled class date.
  • Class fee is due at the time of reservation.  A 24-hour notice is required for class cancellation; registration fees will be refunded in the form of a store credit, with notice.
  • Plan on arriving at least 30-45 minutes before scheduled class time to choose beads and colors.
  • We ask that you purchase your beads here so we can continue to pay our instructors.
  • Four and five hour classes include a lunch break.  Feel free to bring a packed lunch or you can chip in on pizza or other carry-out.

Crystal Prom Time – Saturday, May 3, 10:30am-1:30pm - $35.00 plus supplies - Sharon -- Come to this class and let us teach you how to make your own beautiful crystal prom necklace.  By the time you leave, you’ll be an expert and will have a necklace that no one else has.

 

 

Harlequin Bracelet – Saturday, May 3, 10:30-3:30pm -- $40.00 plus supplies -- Vicki. -- Whether you use bright or subtle colors, this delightful peyote stitched bracelet is deceptively easy to make.  Vicki will also show you a terrific toggle clasp plus a square variation.  Skill level:  Must have basic knowledge of peyote.

 

 

Cobblestone Cuff Bracelet – Thursday, May 8, 6:00-9:00pm - $35.00 plus supplies - Sharon – This is a fun cuff bracelet to make and has a lot of texture.  It reminds you of a cobblestone street.  Skill level:  Beginner.

 

 

 

Beaded Elegance - Thursday, May 8, 6:00-9:00 pm; Saturday, July 5, 10:30-1:30 pm -- $35.00 plus supplies (Alyson) -- This bracelet far exceeds its name as it is truly elegant, and you’ll want to make it in several color combinations. 

 

 

Peyote Spiral Bead – Saturday, May 10, 10:30am-1:30pm - $35.00 plus supplies – Sharon – Have you seen those spiral bangles on the back of Carol Wilcox Wells' Art and Elegance of Beadweaving and wondered if you could ever figure it out?  This bead is made using the same technique, so once you know how to make the bead, you can just keep going and make a bracelet! You won't believe how easy it is once you get it going. It is really magical to watch it develop its spiral when you haven't had to do anything tricky to make it happen. It's a fascinating process - come join Sharon in class and see!  Skill level:  Beginner (warning: some small beads).

 

 

Herringbone Twist Ribbon Bracelet – Saturday, May 10, 2:00-5:00pm; Saturday, July 12, 2:00-5:00 pm - $35.00 plus supplies – Alyson  -- This lovely bracelet is an elegant twist of color.  It is also suitable for a necklace, by itself, or add a focal bead and you will have a stunning piece.   Skill level:  Beginner.

 

 

Chain Maille – Box Chain (shown below in right) – Thursday, May 15, 6:00-8:30pm; Thursday, July 10, 6:00-8:30 pm - $25.00 plus supplies – Annette -- This is a fun class!  You will learn the old art of connecting jump rings into a pattern and end up with a really neat bracelet.

 

                 

 

Hexy Herringbone – Saturday, May 17, 10:30-1:30pm - $30.00 plus supplies (Sharon) -- This is a darling bracelet with endless color coordination possibilities.  Supply list:  approx. 9-10 grams of size 8 Hex beads for an 8” bracelet; approx. 82 3mm fire polish for the bracelet and loop (depending on the size button used for the clasp); button for the clasp.

Gwenevere’s Cuff –Saturday, May 17, 10:30 am – 3:30 pm - $40.00 plus supplies -- Vicki   Make this lacy cuff bracelet using Vicki’s special easy Right Angle Weave variation. New beaders, use 11º seed beads and 4mm crystals for a beautiful and MUCH easier-to-learn version (it’s easier to see the bigger beads). Experienced beaders can use 14ºs and 3mm crystals for a truly delicate look.   Skill Level: Beginner

Wire and Crystal Knit Bracelet – Thursday, May 22, 6:00-9:00 pm - $35.00 plus supplies -- Sharon -- Sharon will teach the old but new technique of knitting with a wooden spool.  Warning:  This is an addictive bracelet!

 

 

Peyote Bead – Thursday, May 22, 6:30-8:30pm; Thursday, July 17, 6:00-8:30 pm -- $25.00 plus supplies – Alyson -- Are you a stringer who would like to branch out a little?  If so, this is the class for you.  Alyson will show you how to make Peyote beads that you can string on a bracelet, necklace, or make earrings with.  Once you see how easy it is to make these beads, you’ll be hooked.  Skill level:  Beginner.

 

 

 

Chain Maille – Byzantine Chain (Shown on left) – Saturday, May 24, 10:30-12:30; Thursday, July 24, 6:00-8:30 pm -- $25.00 plus supplies – Annette --  This is a classic chain maille pattern and very elegant.  You will learn the old art of connecting jump rings into a pattern and end up with a really neat bracelet.

 

 

Peyote Stitch Bangle – Saturday, May 24, 2:00-5:00pm; Saturday, July 5, 2:00-5:00 pm -- $35.00 plus supplies –Alyson --  This is another addictive bracelet and you can’t stop at one.  It is easy and the color combinations are endless.  You can wear them singly or stacked.  Skill level:  beginner.  This bracelet is being taught with the permission of its designer, Anna Elizabeth Draeger.

 

 

Russian Leaves Earrings – Thursday, June 5, 6:00-9:00 pm -- $35.00 plus supplies – Sharon – Russian leaves are called that because some wonderful Russian beaders came up with this basic leaf pattern. Once you know how to make one of these leaves, you can change the bead sizes and the number of beads used to start and make them in many sizes! They are great for embellishing handbags, hats, jackets, and more! Combine to create flowers! You'll be so glad that you learned this basic construction!   Skill level:  Beginner (warning: Small beads).

 

 

Cabochon – Saturday, June 7, 10:30 – 3:30 pm - $40.00 plus supplies – Sharon --  Do you have a stone that you really love but doesn’t have any holes?  This is the class for you.  Beaded cabochons are really beautiful.  They may be worn as a necklace or a brooch – the possibilities are unlimited.  Warning:  some small beads. 

 

 

Fire Polish, Single Needle, Right Angle Weave Cuff, Saturday, June 7, 2:00-5:00 pm; Thursday, July 24, 6:00-9:00 pm -- $35.00 plus supplies – Alyson --  Proficiency in Right Angle Weave is a necessity with so many beadweaving designs.  Many designers in the beading magazines use this versatile and beautiful technique.  Skill level:  Beginner

 

 

Swirly Peyote Stitched Bead – Thursday, June 12, 6:00-9:00 pm; Saturday, July 12, 10:00-1:00 pm -- $35.00 plus supplies – Vicki --This is Class Two and will teach you how to make the top of the Phoenix Feather earrings.  Skill level:  Intermediate.  Student should be familiar with Peyote stitch, and increasing and decreasing techniques.  Take either or both classes.  Save $5.00 when you sign up and pay for both classes at the same time.

 

 

Chain Maille –Diamond Weave – Thursday, June 12, 6:00-8:30 pm - $25.00 plus supplies - Annette -- We’ve added another chain maille weave to our schedule.  The diamond weave is great for a pendant and earrings and with a little imagination . . . . .  You will learn the old art of connecting jump rings into a pattern and end up with a really neat bracelet.  Skill level:  Beginner.

 

 

Wishing Stars – Saturday, June 14, 10:30-1:30; - $35.00 plus supplies – Vicki – Make a wish!  Let Vicki show you how to make these adorable little stars in your favorite birthstone colors; then connect them to make dainty, sparkling jewelry you’ll be happy to wear or give as gifts.  The stars work up quickly, and there are so many ways to join them!  Skill level:  Beginner.

 

 

Flat Spiral - Saturday, June 14, 2:00-5:00pm – $35.00 plus supplies – Alyson -- This is a stunner and easy to do.  It is a very classy and expensive looking bracelet and can be made with either crystals or Czech fire polish.  This bracelet is perfect for gifts.

 

 

Fiery Phoenix Feathers, Thursday, June 19, 6:00-9:00pm; Saturday, July 12, 2:00-5:00 pm – 35.00 plus supplies – Vicki --  In Class one, you will create these fiery Phoenix Feathers with Peyote stitch, using a modified Russian Leaf technique.  Skill level:  Intermediate.  Student should be familiar with Peyote stitch, and increasing and decreasing techniques.  Take either or both classes.  Save $5.00 when you sign up and pay for both classes at the same time.

 

 

 

Swarovski Rivoli Pendant, Saturday, June 21, 10:30-3:30pm -- $40.00 plus supplies – Sharon --  Are you looking for a project that looks spectacular, can be worn on a simple chain, and will add a WOW factor to any outfit? This is it! This 18mm rivoli has a completely covered back done with circular flat peyote. The addition of Swarovski crystal bicones in two colors around the outside set it off perfectly! Everyone will notice this one when you wear it!

 

 

Baby Beaded Elegance, Saturday, June 21, 2:00-5:00 pm; Saturday, July 19, 2:00-5:00 pm -- $35.00 plus supplies – Alyson --  Just as stunning as its mama.  Baby beaded elegance captures your heart with its delicacy and detail.  Crystals and pearls – what more can you ask for?  Skill level:  Beginner

 

 

Tennis Bracelet –Thursday, June 26, 6:00-9:00pm - $35.00 plus supplies -- Sharon -- A Beads’N More customer favorite!  A gorgeous bracelet that only a jeweler would know was not made of diamonds!

Skill level:  Beginner (warning: some small beads).

 

 

Tubular Herringbone Bangle Bracelet – Saturday, June 28, 10:30am-3:30pm - $40.00 plus supplies – Sharon – No clasp on this one! Take this class and you'll find out what the secret is to holding its shape. You'll learn how to give it that undulating look by changing bead sizes so it looks like it has beaded beads added to it. This is a fun project! Herringbone is such fun because you get to add TWO beads at a time instead of one.  Knowledge of Ndebele/Herringbone helpful.

 

 

Peyote Bezeled Cabachon – Saturday, June 28, 2:00-5:00 pm -- $35.00 plus supplies – Alyson --  Have you seen a beautiful cabochon and not known what to do with it?  This class will teach you an easy way to surround a cabochon within a clutch of beads.  Skill level:  Beginner (warning: some small beads).  This bezeled cabochon class is being taught with the permission of its designer, Ann Benson.

 

 

 

Knotting Techniques –Thursday, May 10, 6:00-9:00 pm; $35.00 plus supplies Vicki -- Vicki will show you how fun and easy it is to knot your pearls like the professionals do!  Add value and security to any necklace, and enjoy the beautiful drape of a knotted necklace.  Thread selection and different ways to end your necklace or bracelet will be covered.  We’ll make a bracelet in class, but you will use this same knot lots of times in your other stringing projects.

 

 

Ndebele (Herringbone) Chevron Crown, Saturday, July 19, 10:30-3:30 pm -- $40.00 plus supplies – Vicki --  Make a pair of tiny crown-shaped nesting vessels out of tubular Herringbone stitch.  You’ll learn both Circular (flat) and Tubular Herringbone, as well as increasing.  You should complete one vessel in class.  Skill level:  Intermediate.  Student should be familiar with basic beading techniques.  Knowledge of Ndebele (herringbone) stitch is not necessary. 

 

 

Russian Leaf Pendant, Saturday, July 26, 10:30-3:30 pm -- $40.00 plus supplies – Sharon -- Some Russian beaders created this leaf design a number of years ago. If you've wanted to learn it, but the earrings were done with beads too small for your liking, then you should sign up for this pendant class. This technique is diagonal peyote. Once you learn how to do it, there are many applications for it - not just making leaves! But we've seen leaves worn alone or combined in many ways to make other designs. Come join in the fun!

 

Toggle Bouquet, Saturday, July 26, 10:30-3:30 pm -- $40.00 plus supplies – Vicki -- Wonder how to beautifully finish your necklaces and bracelets, without a store-bought clasp? Vicki will show you how to make dainty, floral-inspired, mix-and-match toggle clasps, using a variety of techniques. Use one to dress up a plain choker, or bead up a whole bunch to toggle together for a bouquet of a bracelet.  Skill level: Intermediate - Student should be familiar with basic beading stitches.

Rivoli Earrings – Thursday, July 31, 6:00-9:00 pm -- $35.00 plus supplies – Sharon – For those of you who have yet to see rivolis, it will be love at first sight.  Rivolis are made by Swarovski and are extraordinarily beautiful.  Sharon will teach you how to encase and embellish them.  Prerequisite:  Must know single needle, right angle weave technique.

Basic Bead Stringing – $15.00 plus supplies -- Estelle.  Learn all the basics of bead stringing and make a bracelet, necklace or ankle bracelet in class.  Any of these make wonderful gifts. 

 

Basic Earring Class - $15.00 plus supplies -- Estelle.  Have you wanted to learn to turn a loop or make a wrapped loop for your earrings?  Well this is the class. 

 

Spiral Rope Bracelet – $30.00 plus supplies -- Estelle The spiral stitch will enable you to make a beautiful bracelet, earrings, or necklace.  The necklace can be worn alone or, if you have a favorite focal bead you would like to display, the necklace will enhance it.  This stitch is very versatile and fun to experiment with. 

 

“The Bracelet” – $25.00 plus supplies -- Estelle This class will teach you an easy basic design for a woven bracelet.  This is one of the most versatile bracelets you will learn how to make, as it looks totally different when you use different beads.  You will be furnished SoftTouch to weave the bracelet.
